RIVERSIDE AQUATICS WATER POLO
CODE OF CONDUCT
The following Code of Conduct must be read and signed annually by all athletes and their parents.
Expected Behavior at all Riverside Aquatics Water Polo activities:
1. Act and conduct myself with dignity and respect for others and the property of others.
2. Always practice and teach good sportsmanship.
3. Promote positive high team spirit and morale.
4. Offer congratulations to my opponents, win or lose, and to cheer on my teammates.
5. Be a responsible goodwill ambassador between the sport of water polo/swimming and the public.
6. Respectful Language at all times.
Prohibited Behavior at all Riverside Aquatics Water Polo activities:
1. Use of alcoholic beverages.
2. Use of illegal drugs.
3. Smoking or other use of tobacco products.
4. Destructive behavior.
5. Inappropriate or unruly behavior, including failure to adhere to team standards.
At Travel Tournaments/Meets:
1. Athletes must obey the established nightly curfew.
2. Athletes must attend all team meetings.
3. Athletes must wear the designated team uniform.
4. At all times, athletes must show respect towards team chaperones and fellow players/swimmers, especially
in matters of safety and discipline.
5. Athletes and parents acknowledge that coaches and chaperones are in charge of policies and
procedures at travel tournaments/meets.
Possible Consequences for Violations of the Code of Conduct:
1. Sending the athlete home at additional expense, to be borne by the athlete and his/her parents.
2. Scratching the athlete from subsequent games/events.
3. Eliminating all non-swimming privileges during the tournament.
4. The athlete will not be invited to attend a future Travel Tournament/Meet.
5. Temporary or permanent dismissal from the team.
