Our Mission
RWP’s mission is to teach fundamental water polo skills, instill a passion for the sport in others, develop high water polo IQ, and execute successful game strategy. Our athletes develop the skills and experience for long-term success that is required to compete at an elite level in high school and in college, through quality year-round coaching and competition. RWP also focuses on building up well-rounded athletes that exemplify discipline, responsibility, respect, leadership, teamwork, commitment, and composure. These life skills will not only positively impact themselves, but their community. Furthermore, we understand that these values will result in excellent work ethic, a positive culture, and competitive play.

Coach Taryn is an alumni of Riverside Water Polo herself and has coached for RWP for the past 8 years. Coach Taryn has a wide range of expertise as she has coached for nearly all of our age groups -- both boys and girls, throughout her time with us. She currently also serves as the Boys and Girls Water Polo Head Coach for MLK Highschool in Riverside.
12u and 14u Girls: Coach Miller and Coach Amber
Coach Miller was a standout goalie at California Baptist University (CBU) during his collegiate career and has the third-most saves in program history with 1,025. Following this showing, he served as Head Women’s Water Polo coach and Assistant Swimming and Dive coach at Grove City College for 3 years. While coaching for GCC, Coach Miller earned 2010 CWPA Division III Coach of the Year and led his water polo team to 3 Division III titles. More recently, Coach Miller served as the Head Women’s Water Polo coach at CBU for 8 years.
Coach Amber has been playing water polo for 8 years. She played for CHAWP prior to competing as a center for RCC. Coach Amber earned First and Second Team All Conference and Second Team All Regionals twice while at RCC. Coach Amber is currently a senior center for CBU. She will be entering her fourth year of coaching this season.
High School Girls: Coach Cayleigh and Coach Kira
Coach Cayleigh has been playing water polo competitively for 12 years and she will be entering her 4thyear of coaching this season. Coach Cayleigh grew up in Dallas, Texas where she played for Thunder Water Polo Club and participated in Olympic Development Program (ODP). She was named to Texas’ All State First Team twice throughout her high school career and helped her team win a Texas State title. Coach Cayleigh is currently a senior center defender at CBU.
Coach Kira played competitively for 14 years, has been a coach for 5 years, and currently serves as the Co-Director for Riverside Water Polo Club. Coach Kira played for Rose Bowl prior to competing at CBU as an attacker. While at Rose Bowl, she assisted in leading her team to top 5 in the nation at JOs for 5 years. While at CBU, she was named GCC Newcomer of the Year, GCC Second Team 2x, and GCC First Team throughout her career. Coach Kira also served as a 2x Captain and received Division 1 All-America recognition 3 times while playing for CBU.
